The Magical World of Touch

Imagine that you could hold a world of media content in your hand.
Suppose you could access, video, music, Wifi web surfing, email messaging,
and e-books, all at your finger tips.
The ipod Touch delivers all this and more.
Wifi applications can be added so you can surf the internet.
You can down load and watch You Tube videos.
TV programs and movies are down loadable.
The ipod can down load and display stock market or weather information.
You can send and receive email messages.
This little computer fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.
Its dimensions are approximately 3.25 by 2.25 by .25 inches.
The ipod looks like a thin, round cornered box.

The display is a liquid crystal color screen. It is comfortable to watch videos on this screen.
You listen to the audio through an ear piece.
Using the Ipod Touch is easy. It is turned on or off by pressing a button on one end. An on screen slide bar unlocks the ipod making it ready to use.
There is a menu call button which displays all the function icons on the screen.

When the video function is selected, a video inventory is displayed on the screen.
You can scroll up and down the selection of video picture icons.
This is done by lightly swiping your finger down the length of the screen.
Pressing one of the thumbnail video picture icons will cause the ipod to start playing the video.
Touching the screen while the video is playing,
Will show the video control icons.
They indicate functions for fast forward,
reverse play, and pause.
There is also a video progress time bar, shown at the top of the video screen.
Touching the screen again makes these controls disappear.

The music function works much the same way as video.
It too has a content menu where songs, or other audio can be selected.
You can switch between play lists, albums, and audio control icons.
The audio controls indicate functions for next song, previous song, fast forward, reverse play, and pause.

The ipod touch plugs into your computer via a USB cable.
Media is downloaded from the computer into the ipod, through the USB cable. The ipod battery is charged while the device is plugged into the computer.

By using a program called iTunes, you can direct the computer to purchase, and download video, music, photos, and e-books for the Ipod.

If you already have video, media stored on your computer,
it can be transferred to the ipod, using the iTunes program.
The ipod Touch uses a video format called mpeg4, otherwise
known as Apple QuickTime video.
Movies or TV programs stored on your computer that are in
a.v.i. or windows media format, can be converted to mpeg4, using a video converter. Once converted to Mpeg4 the ipod can play these videos.
Songs already stored on your computer can be transferred to the ipod easily.

The ipod battery will charge in one or two hours.
When the media you want to listen to is loaded, you click a disconnect icon on the iTunes screen page. You can then use your computer, device safe disconnect application,
before unplugging the ipod from the USB cable.

When the ipod is all charged up and full of media, it is a power house of fun.
It gives you the freedom to watch movies, or listen to music, while you are away from traditional media sources. While traveling on a train, plane, ship, or just hiking,
you can enjoy your favorite media content.
