Heat System Thermo Timer

My wood heating system was just large enough to safely heat
the building. Wood heaters must be carefully matched to the
size of the room they occupy. Installing too large a capacity heat source, can cause a significant fire risk.
My heating system can product peak heat, for a 3 hour period. Then fuel needs to be added again. The hot ember coals, will glow for another half hour.
The heat from the coals is not as hot as that coming from
a roaring fire. So if it is very cold outside the house will start to cool off while only the coals are burning.

I needed a flexible way of being awakened to refuel the heater. A simple alarm clock would to the job, if the burning time of the fire was the only factor.
Another factor to take in consideration is the coldness of the temperature outside. The house will cool off slowly,
if the weather outside is not bitterly, cold.
The opposite is true if there is a cold snap outside. Adding a thermostat to the circuit delays the radio alarm turning on. A specific temperature, comfort level can be selected.

This is the system I set up. I used a plug in timer. The fire in the heater is stoked up with wood. I set the timer for 3 hours . When that time has passed, the timer turns on the power to the power outlet.
A direct current adapter is plugged into the timer electrical outlet. The power cable from the adapter connects with an electrical thermostat. Wires run from the thermostat to a radio tuned to a local 24-7 radio station.

When the fire burns low in the heater, the timer has already turned on. The thermostat switches the power on as the temperature in the house falls below 70 degrees. The electricity travels from the 110 volt outlet in the timer, to the adapter. From the direct current adapter, the electricity goes through the thermostat, along wires to activate the radio in my bedroom. The timer is turned off before stocking the fire. After the fire in the heater has been stocked with wood, the timer is reset for 3 hours again.

By setting the thermostat higher than 70 degrees, the fire in the heater, will not have burned out as much. In this case there is would still be something glowing inside the heater when I stock it with wood again.
